Title: Cleaning fork seals
Post by: Mick Milakovic on October 20, 2006, 11:25:05 AM
Hi All, I recently tried to replace the fork seals in my daughters 1985 KX80 and managed to damage them.  They were the exact part number and should have worked, but I think the dimensions were just a hair off.  Anyway,we were going racing the next day and I was left with no option but to clean the old seals and replace them in the bike.  Guess what.  They have been holding up ever since!  Two races and a practice session and they are still not leaking.  I don't imagine this will happen every time, but I think I'll inspect and clean old seals a little closer from now on.  Have fun at the Reunion Ride![:p]
