Title: front # plate stand-off brackets
Post by: chicagojerry on November 14, 2006, 11:34:37 AM
does anyone know who makes some particular front # plate brackets? this gentleman lives near dayton oh and works as a machinist. the brackets are black and machined from some type of very hard plastic. they come with a pointed screw in them to help identify where to drill the plate. i bought a 400 mint from him a couple of years ago and he gave me a set of the brackets. they work great but i have long ago forgot the guys name and phone #  thanks, chi jer

I chi jer! Don't know if related, but I did send a pair of Preston Petty two piece clamps for front # plates to Rob in Australia for reproduction, will send him an email to see if he has had any success.

thanks tom, i'm familiar witht PP ones and these are totally different. considerable amount of machining and they are very durable. they hold the front plate out enough to allow the cables behind them a little more room to flex. thanks, chijer
