Title: Clutch Cable for Six Days
Post by: jay cohen on December 02, 2006, 02:47:31 PM
Put a new clutch cable on my 72 Six Days and it appears way too long, way too much play at the handlebar. Cable looks awfully long, I got it from Al. Think I may have the wrong cable now.

Jay, give Al a call. I got one from him (part #51 02090000) awhile back and it fits fine. Maybe Dale packed the wrong part during Al's absence.

One more note on throttle cables Jay,  is the type of throttle your using too
The 312 Magura and the double cable and single cable throttles I think are all a bit different application [?].
Also you can aim the throttle end of the cable straight up which will make the long cables useable. Wicked goddie looking, but useable:D

Jay:  Do you have the correct lever assemblies for that year?  I am not sure if they were same as the steel tankers with the Magura quick adjust style.  If they weren't the early cable would be have too much freeplay.  Ted
