Title: color of a 72 125
Post by: troy327 on December 03, 2006, 08:35:41 AM
Iam trying to match the green of a 125 six days so I can paint the air box. I would like to find something close in a spray paint that can be found easly. Also I am looking for the rubber spacer that fits on the carb so the air boot fits tight. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Greg

Hi Guys,
There is a "dark" Hunter Green and the #7538 Hunter Green.
Haven't tried the dark, but the #7538 is very close (just it bit more green) but still a close match.

This should probably be under the Penton talk heading but i already wrote it so.....Here's what i found-the lighter Hunter Green (its #7738 on the bar code tag) is a bit darker than the bright green Penton color.Didn't find #7538,but the other hunter green was named Dark Hunter Green and i didn't check it's # as it was supposed to be darker than the #7738.Also tried rustoleum #1934 meadow green as the cap looked promising but too light and not glossy enough.I'm going to try both with clear coat to see if that changes the shade.Other no matches are Duplicolor DSFM327 Deep Jewel Green Metallic,Krylon#2603 Amazon River Green,Duplicolor DA1630 Leaf Green, some close but no cigar.I'm going to try and apply some of the proper paint out of the quart can-(Dupont#B8036AH Bright Green)with a q tip to touch up the covers though, and see what it looks like.Another thought was trying to mix the hunter and meadow green together and see what color it comes out.Maybe Christmas Tree Green?!!!Me thinks a trip to the painters is in order!Happy Holidays,Ric

Just tried the Dupont bright green with a little brush out of a honda touch up paint bottle and it looks good as far as color. From 5 feet it's perfect!Think i'll buy a gun and try my hand at painting whole pieces.Anyone know about catalysts, etc. that need to be used with the quart cans of paint? Thanks,Ric
