Title: '73 175 hard to select neutral when stopped.
Post by: adrian_goold on September 27, 2001, 04:50:14 PM
Hello,

When stopped, i am finding it hard to select neutral from first gear. From second is tricky as well.
Any suggestions on what has worn out to do this.

Adrian

More than likely your clutch is dragging.  What I have done in the past is remove the clutch cover, pull the clutch in and secure it to the handlebar, rubber band or duct tape.  Then I mount a dial indicator so I can rotate the clutch basket and see if the face wobbles.  If your reading is not close to zero the whole way around, adjust the spring tension nuts to get as close to zero as possible.  That should keep your clutch from dragging.  Hope this helps, fairly long winded and possibly confusing.
