Title: original headlite on a 1974.5 250
Post by: gthong on December 09, 2006, 12:34:13 PM
Hi... I have a really nice 1974.5 250 enduro

It has a preston petty number plate/headlight.

was that original? or did it have a "headlite" with ears to the forks?

If the later... are they avaialble.. and what should expect to pay for the light and ears?

many thanks

gthong, Original kit was CEV 6" dia. steel headlight can with 35mm aluminum ears. The light cans are getting harder to find but the ears come up pretty often. There have been several sets of ears on ebay lately, some NOS. I'd pay $30 or 40 for a nice set of ears. Don't know what I'd pay for a nice headlight can, probably a lot! However, Preston Petty look is a personal preference and looks cool too! Depending on what type of rear fender you have (Falk enduro, PP or MX) you may wanna match up the rear light (brand) with the front. Just my take. Good luck,

Chris H.
