Title: rim cross-reference
Post by: Mick Milakovic on December 11, 2006, 03:15:21 PM
Hi All, I recently took apart a front wheel from a 1982 YZ250.  It has a 36-hole gold DID rim, and I was wondering if these rims can be used on a Penton, or a Husky?  The # of holes is correct, but I was wondering if the rims are drilled at different angles to account for different hub styles?
Thanks in advance, Mick.

Mick, I have found differences in the hole angles if it was a conical hub versus a straight hub.

I tried once to lace a SUN rim from a 81 KTM conical hub to a 84 double leading hub: didn't work.
Compared yesterday a KTM double leading hub to a 82 Yamaha hub: Exactley the same dimensions.
So I think that the 82 Yamaha rim will not fit a KTM conical hub!

Thanks Lew and KTM, that's kind of what I thought.  I guess they'll go on eBay!
