Post by: sixdazed on December 15, 2006, 03:46:22 PM
Just purchased V-2206 for a twenty dollar bill.gotta love it.It's almost complete(no kidding!)but needless to say a bit rough.Anyone know about what year this vin range is?-i'm thinking late 69?,early 70?.It has the short seatpan,the round air cleaner,stock looking downpipe,alloy motor.I couldn't resist for a 20 spot.Thanks,Ric

On closer inspection the cylinder and head are perfect fin wise and the bore may just need a hone to clean it up-cool.Know where i can get a large quantity of evaporust?No,-actually it's not too bad at
all.If anyone has a steeltanker in the 2000 range what year is it?
  Dave-Keep going!

Ric,
Since we talked I feel like it is a very very early 1970 model.  Great job and you left out the part that you had to walk 50 feet from your office to buy it.[:p]

Ron,Actually about 30 feet-he was already in the parking lot of Star Cycles with his toy hauler trailer open so i backed my truck up to it and acted like i was doing him a favor by taking it off his hands. You're right, maybe i should go to Vegas this weekend-(i was thinking about a trip to the Primm Mx Museum anyway).
Rod,As soon as i learn how to post pics onto the site i will.Maybe a before and after. If you know how shoot me an email. Thanks,Ric

Ric,
Okay, if you want to play hardball I'll up my offer to quadruple your investment. No hurry to give me an answer because I'm sure you'll want to mull over such a lucrative offer. :D:D

P.S. One of my Steeltankers is V3010 and it has a title with shows it as a 1970 model.

I stopped by to see Ric yesterday at work and he had the bike in his truck.  It looked great.  You cannot believe how things last outside in Arizona.  The rims had a little surface rust, but the metal was still all there and they were buried in dirt for the last 10 years or more.  Know which bike do you start first?  Skip
