Title: Correct tire size
Post by: Harris on October 01, 2001, 08:21:02 AM
Can anyone help me remember the tire size that came stock on a 1972 125 Six Day Penton?
I fairly certain that the one I bought in 4/72 had Metzlers, but I do not remember the size. (AND) Does anyone know where I could find that tire? Thanks.

3:00 x 21 Front, 3:50 x 18 Rear, Metzelers and good luck finding them.  I had a lead on 1,200 NOS but they sold!  Sorry

Harris, I purchased a new 1972 125 Six-Days in early August of '72.  Curiously, the tire configuration was:  3.00 x 21 Continental up front and 4.00 x 18 Metzeler in the back, even though the specs showed a 3.50.  The 125 B engine easily pulled the larger tire in the back, but the strangely angled knobs on the Continental provided grim traction.
