Looking for a sprocket and sprocket hub with 4-bolt pattern for a 1968 steel tank.

markhd,
Since you didn't include your frame nimber I will assume your bike is a 1969?  If it is a 1969 it should have a 6 bolt rear carrier unless I am wrong...it has happened before[:p].

Mark;   If your V number is under V 800 you need the 4 bolt hub and the bike would be considered a 68.   As close as can be determined at this time that change(to the six bolt hub) happened some where between Oct of 68 to March 69.   And by the way "Welcome" to the POG web site

Mark,

Welcome to the group, it sounds like you have an interesting project.

If you go to the homepage and click on Suppliers, Al Buehner is listed there and he has the 4 bolt rear sprockets and cushion rubbers in stock, the sprocket carrier is a bit tougher to find.

If you don't mind telling us, what serial number is your Penton. The POG is currently working on a book about the steel tank Penton and we are very interested in seeing how many of them have survived what will soon be 40 years since their introduction in 1968.  The serial number will start with V and it is located on the left side of the steering head, we would be pleased to add it to our steel tank Penton registry.

Good luck Mark.

Paul
