Post by: tmc3c on January 05, 2007, 11:23:28 AM
What year is the bike Carl is riding here? Is it a 250? Greg Holder was telling me about a 250 Carl rode and how I should do a replica so all info would help. Thanks!!

Hi Thomas,

The photo on the home page is taken from a Cycle Magazine test. The bike is a 77' 250, in the article described as an MC-6. I am pretty sure this is not Carl's personal bike and that he usually rode 350cc & 400cc models. Rather it is a stock bike loaned to the magazine for the purpose of evaluation. April 1976 Dirt Bike Magazine has a great article featuring the Carl's personal 1975' 350 and shows the improvements he made for the ISDT. That's probably the bike to make a replica of as the article goes into great detail on his set-ups. Hope that helps. If I had a scanner I'd post these for you.

It looks just like my 1977 GS6 (400).

I bought that same june 77 Cycle test article on eBay for reference photos and information. It is in fact a 77 GS6 250, but they called it a MC6 250 Enduro in the article. Mike
