Mike,
I have a couple of 78-79 250 snake pipes that are badly repaired or beat up in the front section if they would be of help to you. Cheap! The rest of the pipe sections are good. kevin at Cirle F made pipes for me to fit 78-80 250's but differ from the originals in appearance. Mike [email protected]

Michael,  Were these pipes made to stock demensions?  I dont care about looks so much as I care if the pipes work well.  Larry Perkins mentioned someone that is making pipes that are maybe not performing so well...I dont want that!
Thanks for your reply and I may be interested in your old pipes because the front of one I have is good.

Mike,
There are subtle differences in the front mount positioning even between early and late 1978 250 KTM's let alone 1978-1980. Kevin designed one to fit the 1978 that mounts in the rear to the RH rear seat mount bolt, instead of the rubber cushion stock mounting bracket. On the 1980 model, he made it mount underneath the stock rear mount with a rubber insulator to provide more side panel clearance. He also made one to fit the 78 GS6 chassis, but mount at the rear seat mount bolt also. Kevins pipes have a separate silencer more like the 1981 type pipes. I like the performance on my 1978 and it is a well tried and proven design. Email me and I can send you some pics. [email protected] Mike
