Title: countershaft sprocket
Post by: Bob Seymour on April 07, 2007, 07:18:43 PM
Might anyone out there have a 530 chain 15T countershaft sprocket for a KTM 420? The one on my 83 420 is starting to show the usual wear signs.  I think Al carries these, but wanted to check here first.    Thanks, Bob

I believe I have one, I will check.  Email me at [email protected]  Also have a rare 16 tooth if you want to try to set the dirt bike land speed record!

Mike,
My mistake. This bike has a 520 chain and I have allready got a 15T/520 sprocket coming my way. Funny you would mention the 16T. This bike came with one on it when I purchased it. I have not ridden it as yet. Qne of the things I needed to correct as I am going thru this bike was installing new clutch discs. I wonder if the prior owner realized it was geared high and possibly as a result thats why the clutch was worn. Thanks for your reply,
                                           Bob

Make sure you check the idler bearing and washer that holds the gear on for the kickstarter idler gear, to the top right of the outer clutch hub, behind it.  This is the weak link on the 420/495 engines.
