I am looking for the 11mm, fine thread, 14mm wrench size nut, petcock that fit the 1972 and earlier DKW , Sachs, and Hercules fuel tanks. The Penton fuel cock is too large. I believe they were 16mm nuts. It doesn't have to work only be able to bolt onto the tank and hold fuel.
Let me know if you can help.
Thanks,
Dwight

Hi Dwight,
Contact Craig Vechorik at Bench Mark Works USA in Surgis MS. He's a vintage BMW motorcycle parts supplier and could possibly help you. If he doesn't have the petcock, he probably could direct you to a source who does.
His website is http://members.aol.com/vechbmw/index.html
You can get tech info from Vech M-F 1-5 ct: (662) 465-6444
Hope this helps,
Jeff

Dwight-i should have one as i have 4 or 5 sachs parts bikes with the early tanks.I'm going out there when it cools off a bit to find the Mikuni carb to give you and Teddy the jetting specs-i'll have a look in a bit.I have to do a MAJOR garage re-orginization(push,roll,drag everthing out and clean and organize)and it's too hot here in Az. to do it mid day.
Skip,I'm home today if you want to do the carb swap on your 250!I'll call you.
