Title: Identifying "D" Cylinder
Post by: Ron on May 31, 2007, 09:50:31 PM
Hi Guy's
I was reading the archives and stumbled across some info about bolt-on carbs on a "D" cylinders.
Is that correct?
I have a cylinder on my bike that has a bolt-on carb. I always thought is was somebody's handiwork.
Any other ways to ID one?

Ron,

It will have 6 fins instead of 7, and the webbing on the side of the cylinder will form a Vee.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Paul,
Mine has 7 fins so like I thought, its somebody's handiwork.
They did a nice job though. The carb mount is bored to 30mm diameter and blended nicely to the port.
Thanks again, Ron
