Anyone have a source for new spoke nipples for my 1978 KTM 400 MC5. I bought new spokes from Al Buehner, but he didn't have any spoke nipples to sell me. I already tried Buchanan Spoke. They sent a sample and their spokes use a different thread. I'm going to try Barry Higgins next. Thanks. M.L. :)
I think you are SOL, but its worth trying. You may have to settle for used nipples. If so, I am tearing down the front wheel of my 1980 420 MC80 and they may be the same as what you are looking for. They are free if you'll pay for the postage. I always buy Buchanon spoke sets just for this reason (lack of available new nipples). That's what I am using front and rear on my bike. The rear is done and the old spokes and nipples trashed (actually, I cut the old ones with a torch for easy removal:D).
Did you try Jake? I know a while back he had some, but I'm not sure if they were for the MC5.
