Title: Dennis Jones and V2271
Post by: DKWRACER on June 12, 2007, 05:37:47 PM
Mr. Jones, I am impressed by your recent restoration of V2271, thanks for the pictures!. I did not know where V2271 would end up, but I felt secure, that Ron Carbaugh and I, would bring something of value.

To own a Steel Tanker, and to bring it back from the depths, surely echos the desire.........

Beautifull bike, my congratulations!

Dennis,
You did a beautiful job on the bike.  Thanks for taking your time and doing it right.  You knew I wanted to keep it, but because of your hard work you are the owner of a fine bike.  Great Job.

John Penton will not allow me to restore my steel tanker. It still has the orange dobs of paint on the engine, forks, frame, etc. from tech inspection at the 1971 Berkshire International Two Day. He told me directly in 2000, do not clean that bike!!!! So it sits in the barn looking sad.

Ric,

Dave McCullough found a guy in Tennessee that redid a short seat for me (complete with ribs) that turned out beeeeyoootiful.  I'll try to post some closeup pics of it this week.
