fishaman,
Below is an e-mail address . We bought a new VDO with the right 1.42 ratio last year from him. Larry Volenec bought one from the same man in April. He delivers on time and the VDO's are new.

Hope this will help you.

John,  Do all the Pentons run the 1:42 ratio? I,ve got a 77 175 GS-6 I just restored That just needs the speedo head.  Thanks

kevin k,
All used the same ratio that were CMF framed but a few Sachs powered bikes in early 72. The  steel tankers I dont know about but believe they used the countershaft to drive the speedo and that would be a different ratio. You can look on the drive on the front wheel . It should have the ratio stamped on it.
