Just thought I would let folks know that I recently had good success with a company in Grand Island, N.Y. for Lectron parts.
Fast by Gast(fastbygast.com) specializes in drag bikes, and they seem to be Lectron specialists - apparently a rack of Lectrons is the hot ticket for drag racing Hayabusa's!
I needed a needle and seat assy. and it didn't look like any of the usual Penton supplier had these. The only thing to remember for that part, is that it is important to specify that it is for a gravity feed set-up (as opposed to fuel pump).

Mike,
The guys at Fast By Gast are nice, but when I went to buy a new Lectron from them, they had no clue as to what one I should get for my Penton. At that point, I called Helmut Klausen (Speedy) in Canada, the guy who swears by only using Lectrons and sells them in Canada, and he said I should try to become a dealer for them in the states and he would help me with the sizing, metering rod selection, etc. I did that and last year I bought about 10 carbs for people. I don't advertise or carry spare parts because I don't have the time to make it a real business, I just wanted to get the carbs for a decent price.
I am happy to help anyone determine what they need. If it is just parts, FasyByGast might be the cheapest way to go because of the shipping charges I would have to pass on. But if it is a new carb, I believe I can get them for you cheaper than anywhere else, and have the inlet and outlet of the carb machined to fit your specific needs/rubbers/adapters.

As much as people swear by and swear at computers, this is the kind of info. that was not available back in the day. I know Helmut, but had no idea that he was a Lectron guy! Now I know. Good to know for the future and it would have saved me hassle finding the needle/seat assy.
I did this post so that anyone searching the word Lectron in the future would have access to the info. Thank you Teddy for the supplemental information - it will make it that much more useful for anyone searching it down the road.

Teddy, just wondering, what would it cost to put a lectron... say 38 on one of my 400's or the 440
Thom Green,Still crazy after all these years!

There are many options, I will email you the price sheet then call me to figure out what options you want.

Teddy, got any Lectrons that look like a Bing?[}:)]
Lew Mayer
Which one? What inlet & outlet diameters and overall length do you want? Lectron will machine them them to fit. Replacing a Bing you may need a new throttle cable.
Teddy
I need it to look like a Bing so I can get past Tech.

Oh, sorry, fresh out!!!
