I found a nice clean 1977 Penton 250mx witha rebuilt motor and was wondering what a fair price would be ballpark?
Jon,
There is one on eBay at this time, the auction will be over in 4 days. Item # 200158167650
Hope this helps.
Paul
That's the one.

Jon, I have a 76 mc 5 250 thats a rider. Its cosmetically used, mechanically straight and I wouldn't sell it, cause its my favorite Penton, almost. IF I'd sell it, I wouldn't sell it for a penny less than 1500 bucks.
The 1 on e bay makes mine look used for sure !! Thats a pristine looking ride, and you won't be disappointed.

Jon,
What its worth is exactly what someone will pay for it. Meaning that it is all about timing. With another 90 billion recently approved to go to Iraq most of us would say the bike is worth $1500-1700.
If Bill Gates falls into a mid-life crisis and decides he needs a 77 Penton its worth what he decides to pay.
Sooooo.. You gotta be on the button at the second the auction ends to see if Bill goes MX or like the rest of us...hope no one shows up.
I just finished watching a week long auction on a CR 125 gas tank. It went $501.00 for a gas tank!!! My dad co-signed my loan that year for $749 to by the entire new bike!
Man how did we get old so fast?[:p]

Good to see you still visit the POG. After meeting you at M-O and seeing your attempt at 4 races and the muscles sticking out of your neck ... I've sworn of the Krispy-Kreme donunts and am doing push-ups, sit-ups and the best of all - Hindu Squats! The secret weapon for me is not a faster bike, but rather a better body. Thanks for the inspiration.

Tom, you ain't old. Yet.[8D] I'll let ya know when you are.

Lew, when you ride a Penton, you're never old. Speedy went up to $25,000 for DAVIE, and I turned him down. The Count De Monte Cristo would not be able to buy DAVIE.

Thanks guys.
Ernie, If you have a pull-up bar to hang from see what you think of hanging style knee raise to chest type sit-ups. I like the spine stretch it gives so the suspending gel can move around the discs of the spine. I've found floor type horizontal sit-ups crush the spine too much especially when you get into 100+ per day.
Switch it up from day to day with hanging full pike toe raise style sit-ups to work a different area of the abs and lower back inscissor muscles. Same lower back muscles that fatigue when riding.
A month out from a big race they are confidence builders when you cant always go out riding.
Hope to see you in "08"

Tom, Thanks for the conditioning tips although I think I'm a long way from being able to do your extreme version of the sit-up. Have fun ...
