Hey Ya'll, there is a nice 250 Hare Scrambler for sale on Marks VMX website. I think he is asking $2850. Before you blow it off as too much cash have a look at it. He claims 460 original miles and from the looks I would agree. it has a red tank/sidepanels with the 73 suspension. It has all the lights, speedo and best of all the stock 73 pipe. I dont know what else to call it but a red 73 model which I have never seen before, Hope someone can shed some light on this bike and one of us ought to be owning it. Happy Holidays,TooTallPaul Had to edit the price so it was accurate as well as the mileage which seems to be under 500 miles.
Paul, Kind of new to POG and don't know how to get to Marks VMX site. Typed in Marks VMX and got everything but what I needed. Can you point me in right direction. Thanks Greg B

i saw this bike personally when i purchased another bike and a bunch of parts from him. i think that its a true 74 not a 74 1/2. i had another one very similar to it that i sold to marc hodge and he loves it. non lay down shock frame. the one that i had, had the earlier style shift drum which was male instead of female. i swear that that was the best shifting early ktm motor that i have ever ridden. the one i sold had been painted silver by the factory over the original black that the 73's had. i think this one may be the same way. i know of one other one locally here around amherst. not very common. i think that it would make someone a pretty good bike, either to collect and admire or to ride. personally, i think that its probably worth every penny. and the dealings that i had with rick, i thought that he was a straight shooter. good luck to whoever buys it. chi jer

The serial number indicates it is a very early 74 model.
Frame #31270006, Eng #3-5402112 Bike looks pretty good in the picture.

I have a 74 #401705569 that only has the 3-holes at the bottom. It's my display bike. I have another 74 #40372644 that I race. It's amazing how different the frames are only 2 months apart but the later one has the strut down the swingarm. It also has much more gusseting around the motor mts.& steering head. Talk about running changes!

Greg B - you have a '97 200? Must be blue. Is it a rider or under a tarp?
Just curious. I have #102 with orange plastic on it, blue plastic stored away. My regular woods rider bike. I'd like to see a '97 200 and 125 LE registry site set up, just for kicks.

Big Mac, I bought it from the original owner. Looks like he rode it some. I mainly just look at it and occasionally crank it up and ride for a few minutes. Greg B
