Title: New Hare Scrambler owner
Post by: jspencer on November 07, 2001, 09:20:00 PM
Bought a 250 Hare Scrambler (1973? 1974?) for $80 this week. Had no idea what it was at that point except an older well built bike. Dusted it off and it said "Penton."  So found this site and am starting to learn a lot -- thanks, all. Two questions: where can I obtain a shop manual for this model, and should these bikes be sold with titles or no such thing necessary when it's an off-road bike?  Thanks -- hope to get a rebuild done and a little riding before the snow flies!

How come I never find these "sweet" deals?

JR, for parts try fellow POG members....they're always willing to help! Also watch Ebay....they usually have some interesting "stuff"....

Good Luck
Steve

JR ,
look under Penton Parts on the POG home page.
Larry or Al should have the manuals you are looking for.

I have a manual for a 75. It covers 125 to 400. If you send me your snail mail address, I'll make xerox copy. Good Luck w/ your project.

JR - I'll give you $250 for the bike, sight unseen.... (you lucky dog)

Title is not so important, just that you should be assured the bike is not stolen. Definitely a legitimate bill of sale is in order with a notarized affadavit.
