How do you tell the size between a 36 and 38 mm mikuni vm carburetor. Merry Christmas to all, thanks Brad.

That's actually a very good question since the VM36 - VM38 external specifications are identical.  The only way I know is to closely examine the internal jetting to make an accurate examination.  Please view the jetting specifications here which are above the physical specs.

William,
Although the external dimension are the same, the throat (that is the internal diameter of the spigot) will measure either 36mm or 38mm respectively.
