Title: Wanted - 35 mm Fork Tube
Post by: SouthRider on December 21, 2007, 02:33:54 PM
My little 100 project is proceeding, and I am going to use the mid 70's 35 mm forks off of a 74 125. However there is pretty bad pitting on one of the tubes (imagine that!!!).

I am looking for a 35 mm ceriani fork tube for a 74 CMF.

Would consider a pair or whole set of forks if the price is right.

Thanks Kevin, I spoke with Frank last week and that is one alternative.

Seems like everthing for this bike is either $300 or $400. I'm not complaining but after 5 or 6 of those it starts adding up.

I'm hoping to find someone who has a spare set lying around with one bad tube & is willing to let go of the good one.

I do have 2 good sets of short travel 32 mm forks that I can use if I have to.

I also have numerous parts available for trade, as I am building this bike out of 3 parts bikes that I bought.

Have you looked into new chrome plating or do you think the pits are to deep? Are you good with JB weld and a micro file and a magnify glasses?[8D][8D]--- I have a bent tube; anyone know about rebending a tube[?][?][?]

I have good tubes from a steel tanker.  Also nice fork legs.  The problem was the hydraulic components.  If I can help out let me know.

I have straightened tubes many times using a couple of steel blocks with a V cut in them in a press.  As long as they are not bent to the point that they oval out when you are straightening them your good to go. I double up a rag where the tubes sit in the V.
