Title: Fuel tank crosover question
Post by: Jim A on December 28, 2007, 02:31:47 PM
I have a 1972 Berkshire with the toaster tank. What other size and year models have the same tank? I'm looking to eventually get a used tank for riding and the current one professionally painted. I mostly see Jackpiner tanks for sale, are these the same tank? Any infomation
greatly appreciated.

Jim,
All the tanks from 1973 till the end of 1975 will fit.  Where most people encounter problems is when the have a 1973(late) to 1975 Penton and try and put a 1972 (non high breather) tank on these later bikes.  The channel on your tank is not as wide as the later 1973 o=till 1975 bikes.

Thanks Ron,
I though that may be the case but wasn't sure and didn't want to buy the wrong tank.
BTW, the young man in the picture with the steeltanker looks like me back in the day, didn't have a Penton unfortunately.
