Hi guys,
a friend of mine has this part:

He thinks it's an exhaust silencer for ktm GS/6 '77 or '78 for the USA market.
Is he right or wrong?

I have a pipe off a 77 GS6 that has an end like that on it. It has a stack of Super Trapp discs and end cap on it.

Yes, I agree with Dennis. This does look to be for a 77 GS6 or MC5 pipe.

I have a super trapp on my 77 GS 400, and it does look similar, but mine has a wing nut to hold the adjustable baffles onto the end, Is the thin long pointed rod threaded ?? And are the baffles missing ??

Dennis and Rain Man,
can you insert a photo of your pipe, please?
Ciao, Maurizio

Maurizio, I have no clue as to how to insert a picture but if you PM me your email I can take some pictures and send them to you.

Dennis,
You have mail. Mike
Here are pics of what I believe to be pics of a GS-6 stock pipe, and what looks to me like an MC5 pipe with a Supertrapp silencer on the end that Dennis forwarded to me, Mike.
