Title: need a little help on REH forks
Post by: cardojr on February 24, 2008, 05:23:55 PM
Hey all, I could use some advice on my Tyran front end project. I'm pretty sure they're REH forks. I'll need seals and am looking for a size. The tubes appear to be slightly smaller than 35mm (Being British, might they be in inches?). I'm also having trouble removing the  steering head bearings and steel inserts that are in the upper & lower triple clamps. I'll probably need wheel info as well. And they say guys never stop to ask for directions.
this can go off topic if you want.
thanks- rob

If I remember correctly, the tubes are 31.5mm in diameter.  Get ahold of Matt at Speed and Sport, he may still have original replacements.  The wheels are Rickman so are no trouble not sure about the 3x clamps mine came apart OK?

Thanks Kip -I'll shoot Matt an e-mail tonight on seals. I think I might just have to use a little "persuasion" in separating the parts (i was a little worried that the steel inserts might be threaded in). This is a warm up for the mighty 68 berky resto. I'm sure the sheriff is thinking "you haven't gotten to that yet"
