Title: 1976/77 MC5 Ceriani Leading Axle Forks
Post by: 454MRW on February 25, 2008, 12:03:45 AM
On some of the 1976/77 MC5's 35mm Ceriani leading axle forks were used, and on the majority, Marzocchi 35mm leading axle forks were the standard. I know that the Marzocchi's were Magnesium and were a goldish/green tint. Were the leading axle 35mm Ceriani's aluminum, and what color were they originally? Thanks, Mike

I believe they were also mag, and they were painted black...and they worked better than the Zooks I feel. Came on the earlier 76,s before KTM's switch to all Zook suspension.  By the way I am looking for mc-5 fork tubes for those babys. Anyone??

Larry,  Do you still have the Ceriani forks?  If so, send me a photo and $$ at [email protected]

Any body else have a set of forks for '77 MC5?

Thanks,

Are you looking for the 35mm Marzocchi's?  If so, I have forks and triple clamps.

I did sell that pair . I have also noticed that there is a 1 inch longer fork tube for those and the marz as well . I think the MXers have the shorter tubes?[?] LG

Rocket,  Yes, I'm interested.  Bike presently has Ceriani.  Want to keep it Historic legal (9")  Is this a straight bolt on conversion?  Will my axle work?  Give me some details. Thanks  -EP

When I get home form work, I will check them out and take some pictures.  I may even have an axle.  Send me your email address.

Bob,  Just looking to make the most of the race weekend.  We are going to ride PV in addition to Vintage in Cross Country.  Thus, the '77 MC5 project for me.  Christopher will ride a nice 74-1/2 Hare Scrambler.  We debut this weekend in SC.  I'm afraid we may be "breeding horses" in PV this year.  Haven't ridden in 4 months, gained all the lard back plus some.  Man, ... too many coconut macaroons in the off-season!

The longer fork tubes are for the 76 GS models. They had a longer steering stem frame I believe then the MC-5.
