From what I have read from posts on the Vinduro site, MR175's are highly sought after and the pistons are next to impossible to get. Mike

Leo,
What about a Honda XR200R? It has a 17" rear tire.

I had a '75 MR175 as my first full size bike. Its a nice bike and would be a fine learner bike but as Mike mentioned, pistons are nonexistent. An MR175 that needs a top end is worthless, and IF you buy one that has a good top end, once that wears out you are done. A much better choice if you want it to be a Vintage bike is a Yamaha AT-1 or CT-1. The bikes are easy to find and parts are very plentiful and cheap.

I have had 2 XR100's now that my son rode. A 2002 and over that last year a 1983 model. They have been very dependable and fun to ride. I would recommend them to anyone that wants to have fun with a beginner class bike up to about 170 LBS. Mike

Leo,
I found a listing for an 1800 mile MR-175 if you are still looking for one. If the miles are accurate, maybe you wouldn't have to worry about a piston, at least for quite a while. I tried the email address that I had for you, but it was returned undeliverable. Mike
