That will work but your best bet is to put a IRC VE33 110/100X17 on the bike or a IRC 4.60X17 (both the same size). Your 1995 has very limited travel and you can benefit from the added cushion that the fatter tire will give. Husqvarna did the same thing in the late 70s with 17" tires.
I am racing a XR200R next weekend at a SERA H/S. It is a 2000 model which is the same as yours. EXCEPT, mine now has 1987 forks with HD fork springs and a Race tech emulator kit in the front and I am running a 1987 shock with Works Performance internals and a 600lb spring. This setup has about 2" more travel than the stock 1992-2002 models.

I have now a brand new IRC 460x17 rear tire.I thought I needed a 18" on the rear. I also have a OHLIN piggyback rear shock that I am having revalved for it,Thanks to my Brother here in S.C.I am going to put the Progressive HD springs and pipe seats froma 1990 XR forks with pvc spacers in the forks.

Thomas, you will not need the PVC spacers if you use the PS HD springs and the Race Tech emulators. The Emulators are in the Parts Unlimited Catalog at your local dealer. These made a hugh difference in the forks.
