Title: Mikuni 38mm on a 400
Post by: Knute on July 21, 2008, 10:23:26 PM
Hey Guys,

I just wondered what the latest jetting specs are for a 38mm Mikuni on a 400.  We're in the process of changing over from the Bing and could use a good baseline.

Thanks!
Kent

Hi Kent, I'll take a swipe at his off the top of my head, I hope it  gets you going (close).
*Pilot #45 or 50
*Slide 2.0 or 2.5
*Needle jet 166 P6
*Slide needle 6dh3 or 6FJ6
*Air correction 2.5
*Float seat 3.0 3.5 3.8  BIGGER is better on this one!
I hope you are going to use race gas, I based this "guess" on that, if you run pump go with the listed stuff but please be careful.

Hope this works, good luck!

Hi Merlin,

Thank you very much for the input.  Of course we waited 'til the week of Mid-Ohio to make the swap!

Thanks again,
Kent

Kent! I forgot the main jet, 320 long hex should be close.

 Good luck at the races.
