Title: Wanted - tripple clamps 1978-80 (Mx)
Post by: Lloyd Boland on July 30, 2008, 06:01:34 PM
I am looking for a set of tripple clamps from 1978-80 KTM for 38mm Marzocchi forks to covert a CZ into an Evo bike.  I have a 1980 front wheel from Big Mac and a set of 1978 38mm forks from Tom Brosius.  I am hoping to modfy the tripple clamps to fit the CZ frame.  (Has anyone attempted this yet?)
Thanks for any input or suggestions.

I believe I have a complete triple clamp for the 38mm Marzocchi forks.  I am at work now but I will look tonight when I get home.

Lloyd, I have a complete front end off of an '82 Husky XC. These are 40mm with 4-bolt triple clamps top and bottom with the axle and front wheel. The only thing I don't have is the brake backing plate. I believe these to be much better forks than the 38mm Zokes. I was saving them for a project that never materialized. I'd sell all for $100 plus shipping. I may even have new seals I'll throw in with the deal.

Steve, thanks for the ebay link.  I have seen several sets of tripple clamps on ebay for between $25-$40 but I am always a little hesitant not knowing the quality of the items listed.  I believe that my fellow poggers will be honest and upfront on the quality of the merchandise, especially knowing that we may be racing these machines and they wouldn't knowingly put someone at risk of injury.  Also, although I am not sure, I think the one on ebay may be a 35mm set.

Rocket, thank you for looking.  Look forward to the response.

Sachsmx, ARHMA limits the Historic Class to 38mm forks.  I am not sure that is the class I am ultimately going to compete in with this bike, but it remains a possibility.  Thank you.  I will keep the offer in mind if things change and I decide to move up to the Grand Prix class.

Just found out I will be having gall bladder surgery tomorrow morning so I may not get back to respond to any additional comments until early next week.

Thanks in advance.

I do have the complete triple tree set-up.  Send me your address and I will send them to you.  If you want them, we can settle on a fair price, won't hold you up.
