Title: swingarms: 78 on a 76?
Post by: skiracer on August 27, 2008, 06:06:04 PM
Does anyone know if a 1978 400 MC5 swingarm will bolt onto a 1976 250 MC5 frame?  The bolt on my brake stay broke, and wrapped around my swingarm.

Thanks, James

I have a 77 swingarm on my 76, the differences are marginal.. actually the 77 is a better swingarm... on the 76 the shock mount uses a through bolt. on the 77 it is threaded. If you have ever taken off the shocks on a 76 you would know what a pain getting to the nut on the inside of the shock mount... 77 that is no longer a problem...
I do have an extra 77 swingarm. as well as a frame.

Thom,

I have an interest in the swingarm and frame.  Could you email me?
