Let's hold all those in the Gulf area up in our prayers.  Beaumont got it BAD.  Ron, there's always a spare room at my place.  Take care.

Thanks Big Dave and Thomas,
We rode it out till 11 Am this morning.  We didn't have any power just like approximately 4 million others.  We are now at our Home in Kerrville and will be taking care of other starting tomorrow.  We appreciate you Prayers.
Just a side note on IH 10 from Houston to San Antonio we say over 1000 energency vehicles going to Houston.  Texas Guard, Police from all over, several 100 Ambulances and all types of support trucks.  HEB the Food Company got involved and had 10 18 wheelers full of food and water.....no charge.  We live in the greatest country.  I am not kidding on these vehicle counts and that was just in a 3 hour period and only on one highway.
  Thanks again.

Ron,
Very glad to hear that you are safe and dry. My home for 17 years was Clear Lake City, right in the path of Ike's eye. I still have many friends in the area. I pray that they are safe also.

Nelson,
I am sure you remember the Hilton right across from NASA.  The atrium in the Hilton fell inside the hotel.....they had never had a problem and had their own generator system.  It is all a big mess.

Ron,
Yes, I have been following the photos posted on the internet. It appears that Seabrook, Kemah, and areas around Clear Lake were hit pretty hard. Lots of familiar places received lots of damage. I feel for them and their cleanup efforts.

Ron,

Very glad to hear all is well for you folks.  The company I work for is based in Houston, and we are waiting to hear from numerous friends and associates.  Those who have checked in fared pretty well.  However, here in NE Ohio we were hit hard with what was left of Ike Sunday night.  Many trees down, with widespread power outages, and considerable damage.  I can only imagine what it was like for those folks who received the REAL force of the hurricane.

Ron,
Glad to hear you and yours made it ok. We all hope your friends are ok too. I had boarded up when Hanna strolled up the east coast, and it looked like Ike might follow, but it turned south.
Looking at the pictures of Galveston reminds me of Sullivans Island and the Isle of Palms when Hugo came through in '89. One house standing tall, the ones on either side gone...
 Take care of yourself.

Bobby
