Title: What kind of guard is this?
Post by: rick deford on September 20, 2008, 04:36:36 PM
Hey Guys,

When I purchased my 68 six-day last April, it had some what I think was some kind of guard welded on the left, shifter, side. Was it a brush guard or, some kind of guard for flat track racing?
Have any of you guys used something like this before?

Thanks,

Rick,
I have seen this type of shifter protector(for no better name?) that is soecifically designed to protect your shifter if you go down.  With this protector the bike rides on this protector rather than on the shift lever....eventually bending or breaking the shift lever or worse yet breaking it off.  Even if you have a spare shift lever you probably got your shifter out of adjustment.  I hope this helps.

Thanks for the feed back guys. I was just curious, I have never seen a set-up like this before.
