Title: Barber Vintage Festival
Post by: brian kirby on September 23, 2008, 12:34:39 PM
Who is going to the Barber Vintage Festival Oct 18-19? I will be there racing cross country and making my debut on the SoCal Berkshire in the 100cc MX class. I may also ride the Berkshire in Classic CC but I have not made up my mind yet.

Fuel prices the way they are no thanks with just vintage being offered, if PV had been left on the roster it would be a can't miss.

I am upset about PV being canceled but I will go anyway. I really want to race my 100, and the CC course is good too. At 4 hours away its the closest National for me.

You might want to check on that. I believe it is only PV motocross that was cancelled and that is because the course isn't complete. Check with Teddy Landers on the PV CC. I think that is still on.
 I plan on being there.

You are correct Lew, only the PVMX is off, Vintage and PV cross country will still be run.

Just a reminder:  Barber is pre-entry only for CC & VMX.  Cut-off date Oct 3.  Phillips Vintage will be there with a slew of Pentons - 100, 125, 175, 250 and maybe a Mint! -EP

The '77 MC5 400 will be there if I can get it delivered here in time to prep it. The shipping company that has it is sometimes not the most reliable. :)

I'm heading to Barber as well. Will be racing CC, Trials and MX. Hopefully will have my old/new Wassell together in time. The MX track is natural grass and flat as all get out. They need to add some jumps, woops, etc. The musesum is worth the trip alone.

Ernie, hope for rain!

Chuck,

My first AHRMA race was Barber '06 when it rained. The MX track was actually a challenge even though it was totally flat. Last year it was kinda boring with it being dry. I dont WANT it to rain, but if it does at the very least the track will be more challenging.

New MX track .  No Grass track.  Mr. Barber didn't like us tearing up his grass.

I will be leaving the Barber event on Thursday with plans to be there by noon on Friday. I will be selling parts in the swap meet and will also have a POG display. The POG display will have the POG E-Z up with hanging photos. I will also have POG merchandise available for sale:
the 2008 t-shirts in sizes S,M,L,XL, and 2XL
2008 hats
40th anniversary decals
10th anniversary decals
40th anniversary coffee mugs
John Penton books

All proceeds from the sale of this merchandise go directly to the POG treasury.

I am in need of a Penton motorcycle (in VGC) preferably a Steel Tanker to have in the display. If anyone can supply a bike to show from Fri afternoon to Sunday noon, please give me a call at 216-651-6559.

Having problems with my Penton.  I have several things to check but I am afraid I won't have time to fix it.  I may have to drag out the Hodaka.
