Classic Swap Meet at Ashland County Fairgrounds February 8. 2009
A new era of family-style motorcycle swap meets begins Sunday, February 8, 2009 in the roller rink building at the Ashland County Fairgrounds in Ashland, Ohio. The inaugural Classic Swap Meet presented by Will Stoner opens its doors at 8:00 AM.
Veteran motorcycle event organizer Will Stoner returns to his roots after a ten-year stint as Special Events Director for the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA). "I'm grateful for my time at the AMA, but I'm excited about the opportunity to promote my own events and to develop some new projects" said Stoner.
The swap meet will feature all brands of motorcycles, parts, literature, memorabilia and accessories. Sharing the spotlight at the event will be a vintage motorcycle show. The show is open to all bikes 1989 or older, with awards in over ten classes up for grabs. Bike show entry fee is $10 for the first motorcycle and $5.00 for additional machines.
Admission is $6.00 per person. Children under sixteen are free. Indoor and outdoor vendor spaces are $60.00 each.

Hope that date doesn't conflict with our Penton Day at the AMA. Is there a date set for our event yet, Paul?

It is about 80 miles north east from the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, which is just east of Columbus, to the Ashland County Fairgrounds. Pretty much just take 71 north past Mansfield to Ashland.
Will has offered the POG a spot to set up a club display if we wish. He also has proposed several other concepts for us to consider that could make this a really special day for the Penton Owners Group. As details are finalized we will post them, but as mentioned above, this has the makings of a really neat weekend.
The Penton Day at the AMA will focus on the 50th anniversary of John's record setting transcontinental run on his BMW, and the events that it triggered.
Hope to see you there,
Paul
