Title: steel or aluminum rims?
Post by: unkobil on December 15, 2001, 02:54:30 AM
I have a Sachs powered six days 125 (year???) It wares a green fiberglass tank and rolls on steel rims. My question is: Are those rims original and would it make a difference if I switched over to aluminum?
Anybody like elaborate on this?? Thanks

To the best of my knowledge the Six Days did not get alloy rims till the 74 model so it depends on the year.  Alloy rims are lighter but in theory the steel ones were stronger.  Depends on your preference and if you want it to be historically correct.  It will be cool either way it is a Penton.  Give us the motor or frame # and we can most likely ID the year for you.
