I can't tell for sure but which way does the flywheel nut turn on a 125 Sachs engine for removel.

It is the opposite of normal.  Go clockwise to remove.

Thanks Larry it came off just fine. Now another question for the Sachs guru. Is the countershaft sprocket keyed or threaded after the left hand jam nut has been removed?

I am not the Sachs Guru, that would be Doug Wilford in my opinion.  I will answer this one anyway. It is neither.  The countershaft is tapered so that after the sprocket nut is removed the countershaft sprocket is pulled off and many times it does need pulling off.  The Penton Man thinks you could use a parts manual with exploded view and maybe a rebuild book. Like Paul Danik said to me at the starting line of a National Cross-Country this year, "You're always working a deal."  Best of luck in getting the steed up and on it's feet.
