Title: 74-75 Upper Shock Bolt Sleeves/Bushings
Post by: Tahitian_Red on January 19, 2009, 03:52:23 PM
I'm replacing the 8mm upper shock mount bolts on my 75 KTM 250 and notice a worn sleeve/bushing on the old bolts.  Without them the bolts fit sloppy in the frame.  Are these available new or repo?  Anyone ever go to the next size larger bolt for added strength?  The 8mm seem a little small for all the force they will be taking.  Thanks!

The upper bolts on the 75 frames should be 10mm and the lower bolts are 8mm.

Thanks!

Maybe that's why they were sleeved. LOL

Thanks Tom!

I'll keep that part number, but I just got back from the hardware store with two hardened 10mm bolts. I already feel safer just looking at those 10mm sticking out of the frame. ;)
