Title: Bryar Holcomb
Post by: rob w on January 20, 2009, 12:49:06 AM
In the early days of U.S. Motocross, Bryar Holcomb was one of the best.
Probably most remembered as a Bultaco rider, he also rode for Suzuki.
He was among the first group of fast American motocrossers' that could seriously challenge, and beat the Europeans.
Well known for winning the 500cc Support Class at the very first Superbowl of Motocross in the L.A. Coliseum. (1972)
He's presently the President of Factory Effex.

Now the point of this post: Evidence now discovered shows that Bryar's roots go back to being a Penton rider.

So before the CMF era of Danny LaPorte's and Bruce McDougal's victories in Southern California.
Bryar Holcomb was tearing up Carlsbad on his Steeltanker.

Larry Pfutzenreuter was a great desert rider and I think he normally raced a Bultaco in the early 1970's.  Good question on where he is today?
