Title: WANTED: handlebar spacers
Post by: skiracer on January 28, 2009, 02:44:41 PM
I see on "evomx244's" picture of his new bike, he there are spacers to raise the handle bars higher.  Anyone know where I can get a set of them?

Thanks, James

James if you want some new alloy high bars with a CZ bend which is like the OEM 74 penton enduro/ mx bar bend.  I saw a pair on the crhighperformance.com  web site that will do the trick . Victor Monz  has them on his 74  six-day race bike.  I think some of the russians had cz bend bars on their early ktms back in the day . LG

Thanks LG.  I was hoping not to change the bars so I wouldn't have to change my bark buster mounts.  James

James,

Those spacers are NOS Marzocchi parts that came on 78 through 81 KTM's, maybe even later models.

You can get bar risers from companys like TouraTech in just about any hieght you want. Most BMW shops also stock bar risers and bar set backs.

In a pinch you can use a set of the top handlebar brackets inserted just below the bars. I needed some extra height last year until I found the bars I wanted.

Had an extra set lying around from a set of old Betor triple clamps.

Not the prettiest solution - but nobody noticed......

Adds about 3/4" of height.

James,

More than just raising the o.a. heighth of the handlebars.
It also allows for more adjustment of the stanchion tubes in the triple clamps. (raise tubes)
Yes they came from a '81 KTM.

These are for you James. PM me with your address.
I've got their dimensions and can duplicate more sets if needed. Can also make custom heighths.
The ones pictured here (if I remember correctly) raise the bars apx. 27mm or 1 1/16".
