Has anyone ever repro'd these? They are plastered all over bikes from the early 70s to an extent that evokes memories of the STP decals I used to get at the local Pennzoil station and plaster all over my Orange Krate knockoff. Those decals (Penton) would be worth repro'ing if someone has a template copy.
This is a smallish photo but you can see what I mean. This bike is, I believe, Mr. Doug Wilford's 125cc ISDT Team Penton "A" team bike from 1973 on which that gentleman earned a Gold medal.

Here is a photo of S.V. Sluice of Holland (143)(Silver) and of Gunter Luken of Germany (144) (retired) both on KTM/Penton 175cc bikes. Luken has both the small and large ovals (along with a KTM oval too). (Yes, Sluice is on a gold bike but he is listed as having been in the 175cc class so it is just a nice paint job I assume).

Just for fun here is what they look like after 6 days of hard riding (center right):

John,
Weird - I had these exact same thoughts yesterday.

If anyone has a Master, I can get them done.

I have one that I believe is an original one. It is a little over 7 inches long and a little over 4 inches tall. What would be involved in duplicating it? I would be happy to volunteer it for that duty but would like to get it back if possible. If someone wants to contact me off list my e-mail is
[email protected].
Richard
Did these come in different colors to match the different models at the time???
The only color I have ever seen this sticker in is light blue.
Richard
All the ones I have seen are blue, and they appear on red, green, blue and gold tanked bikes. Never seen a photo on a Mint.
Richard, that is a great offer and there should be no need to damage your original. Here's hoping that Tom or someone else contacts you. I'll pre-order six of them. Regards, John

I have the same decal only smaller. It is 3 1/8" long and 1 3/4" high. If someone is interested in making the smaller ones they can have one of mine.
Dean
Dean, that is a really nice offer. Looks like we have the basis for a set! Regards, John

Hello, If someone reproduces these stickers I would be interested in buying some of the large and smaller size stickers that Dean mentioned as well. They seem to be hard to find,so I think its a good one for reproduction! Go for it! :D Crash Carden

Make sure they are clear coated as they will be taking a lot of wear from your knees. Which was the point of putting them there.
Dwight
Listen to Dwight on this one or they really are worth making.
Ron Carbaugh
Better Yet, make some perforated so they don't "bubble up" on plastic or Glas. Thick would be nice too!
i contacted jeff clark at bad brush to look over this forum to get an idea of what we are looking for. he will contact me with prices. he does quality work and he did the penton 40th and pog 10th decals at a significant savings over an earlier quote. hope this helps...

Perhaps a timeout. As you know, my endeavours are none other than the replication of valuable parts, some may-be decals too. If you feel like I do, these decals do have some historical value. One should be proud to have tank decals, even if they become worn, a battle scar to enhance the value of a Penton, and a kudos to the rider too!
I can make these decals, what you do with them is up to you...I will not take that away, in earnest, it is a part of Penton Pride.

Hi RC, thanks for sending your original. It is off to my vendor for a price quote to include 3M fuel proof coating and perforations.

Hello, the first repop has come from my vendor and it looks pretty good. Will offer them in perfed and non-perfed versions, with fuel proof coating. It is recommended to clear coat over if possible.
If applying to a plastic tank, then the perfed ones are a bit better, along with an application of 3M Super 77 Adhesive to the backside.
Pricing = $35.00 non-perfed (2) $40.00 perfed (2)
Thanks,
Tom Brosius
Tom, Could you email a digital photo to
[email protected]. I think I would like a set of Perforated for my GS 400 "76" Clarke tank. Thanks for the hard work!;)
Preforated are not needed on fiberglass tanks and they were not used on the later orange plastic tanks. Just make sure they are thick , fuel resistant and tough enough to take knee rubbing.

Tom;
The stickers arrived today. The original was none the worse for wear and the repop looks fantastic. Thanks for the quick turnaround and a great looking sticker. The members of the POG never cease to amaze me.
Richard
Mine arrived too. Nice! Good team effort. One is going on my 12/73 HS that has a shadow of an oval decal from long, long ago. Richard please say hi to your partner Fred K. I'll email you off-line. Best, John
