Title: Frame and Motor numbers
Post by: Mully on February 17, 2009, 09:07:04 AM
Frame # JP20554912
Engine # 2-5200387

Going through the explanation on serials numbers, am I safe to assume:
Frame = 1972 - May - 54912  (what is the JP designation?)
Engine 1972 175CC

Just another penton that I am looking at.

Thanks in advance.

Mully,

For what it is worth, I have 2 - 1972 JP's and there is no JP stamped on the frame.  Both of my bikes start with 7 208***** & 7 209*****.  To the best of my knowledge all of the 72 JP's frame number started with the number 7, then the year and month.

This bike I am looking at is on Ebay.  I asked the seller for the motor and frame numbers and what I posted here is what he sent me.  I will ask him again if there is really a JP in the number and let you know.

Thanks,

mully
