Well I found an MX tank for my '75 KTM 250, but that might be the easy part. LOL
It is in pretty nice shape, but it has a small repair just above the right side petcock that isn't the greatest looking job and overall it need to be prepped well and painted. It will likely need to be coated on the inside also. I guess I should try to find a ski boat repair specialist in my area or does someone know of a Penton/KTM tank restoration guru??

Jerry ,
Are you going to make Sat's Gatorback MX?
If so we will look for you.
John D.
I can attest that Chicago Jerry's buddy does very nice work!
Jerry,
Thanks for the offering the info. I found a local restorer who should be able to do it for me.

Of course...when it rains, it pours. There are currently TWO 1.8 MX tanks on eBay.
Someone might get a deal. Or not. [8D]
Tooclose,
A "deal" is relative. I found you need to factor in the few hundred to restore the damn thing too. Any repairs needed, new petcocks, new cap, liner/coating, decals, prep and paint all over and above the $200-$400 people are asking. I got my tank for free and it will still cost me a bit before I'm ready to mount it on my KTM. Oh well that's the price you pay to be in the game.
