Title: SHOCKS FOR 250 HARESCRAMBLER
Post by: Greg Settles on March 01, 2009, 12:24:15 PM
I need some advice on shocks for my 250. I have a new set of 15" works performance shocks. Can I make them work on my 1974 250 or should I send the back and have them reworked.

Thanks:

Greg

Greg.....check the stock length. I believe they were 13.5" eye to eye. Longer shocks will change the frame geometry and steering. It will also bring on problems like chain drag on the swing arm. I know this from experience.

If it is a 74.5 with the multi shock positions 15 inch shocks work perfect if using the top hole and the bottom hole right over the axle for vintage class racing.
