Title: Penton/KTM seat covers
Post by: clayman on March 01, 2009, 02:41:28 PM
Has anyone sent a seat to Rick's Custom Upholstery in The Dalles, Oregon, lately? I sent a CZ seat base and foam to Rick in early December, along with a money order for $80, one day after receiving my upholstered Steel tanker seat from him.

I was very happy with his nice, fast work on the Penton seat, although I am now a bit perplexed about his lack of results with my CZ seat. Rick has repeately told me "next week" for over two months, and then hasn't answered my calls or emails since. I even made the two-hour drive over there two weeks ago to find out what's happening. He did answer the door, and our conversation was polite, and guaranteed me I'd have my completed seat by the following Friday (Feb.20th)if I didn't ask for my seat base/foam and money back.

I am all about trusting people and giving them second chances when they fail, but you may want to contact him first before sending him your seat. I hope that if he is having personal issues/problems that things improve for him.

Did you ever get your seat back from Rick? I was thinking of sending him a seat from an off brand, not a Penton.

Terry,

I never did get my seat back. He promised "next Friday" and that was 4 weeks ago. He (Rick) is currently the talk of one of our Northwest VMX sites from people like me who have sent their seats/bases and money and have nothing in return.
