Ernie,
Have you tried e-mailing the seller for info?

Just out of curiousity, I e-mailed the seller about the frame number being a 54 ...., is this not a 250 frame or do I not have my production numbers down? The seller confirms his belief that it is a Jackpiner.
Please clear me up on this, it is keeping me up at night !

I had an original 74.5 175 Enduro with the original engine that also had a 54- frame number. It seems that they used them for both for a while at least. Mike

I enjoy rebuilding and appreciating Pentons!
1974 250 HS Pentons-1980 KTM 175-400'S
By mid 1974 or so all of the frames for 175-250- 400 all started with the #54. It is what I have found on my bikes. LG
My 175 frame also starts w/ 54 408-*****

I had a 78 MC400 that had a frame # of 855***** and the engine # was 8-55*****. There was no 54 stamped in the frame.

They dropped the #54's with the the start of the new MC-5 frames and went to a new number ID's.
