Title: Which Red for 75 Penton/KTM 250?
Post by: Tahitian_Red on March 06, 2009, 01:35:24 AM
I found these red paints listed on the Mile High Penton homepage, but which one would be correct for my 75 KTM 250?

Plastikoat Ford Red 206 (Ultra Enamel) (Deep Bright Red)
Plastikoat GM Red 7152 (Ultra Enamel) (Tomatoe Red)
Red for MC5 1992/93 Performance Red (Cobra)

Thanks!

Jay

Jay, a lot depends if you have access to a spray gun. The Cobra Red is a good match and comes from suppliers in a simple two-stage application ie: basecoat/clearcoat....spray bomb alternatives are also offered and the GM code works but may be hard to locate etc...

Have recently been using POR 15 as a brush on top coat prior to epoxy primer which helps to seal and prevent nasty blisters.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Tom!

I'll look into getting a quart of the Cobra Red. ;)
