I'm working to complete the restoration of my Berkshire (born date is March 1973) and need your help with answering the following questions:
- What are the recommended primer, topcoat, and clear coat specifications for wet paint? (I would like to be able to touch up the paint if needed after hard riding)
- Was this bike configured with or without Aluminum fenders?
- What is the recommended paint specification for the air box and air cleaner cover (Red & Yellow spec's.)
Thank you,
Stephen
You can paint the glass, but they were not painted originally it was gel-coat, basically tinted resin. Some very early '73s had aluminum fenders I think, but most had plastic.

Thanks Brian-
Any ideas on what brand of wet paint system to use for the frame and swingarm?
-Stephen
For the frame on my '73 Six Day, I used Eastwood Alumiblast. I bought the qt for the frame, but it also comes in aerosol cans. Works good, looks good also.
Where can I purchase Alumniblast and should I prime and clearcoat before and after the Alumniblast?
Thanks-
Stephen

I had the frame stripped, so my painter used "self etching" primer, no clear.
